The questions most often asked

How is braided mozzarella made?

After the curd is obtained, it is covered with hot water at around 80–90°C; the curd becomes compact and is mixed until it is homogeneous. Once the excess water is removed, the skilled hands of the master cheesemakers step in, braiding the pasta filata in such a way as to give the mozzarella its distinctive braided shape.

Why does braided mozzarella have that particular shape?

Braided mozzarella is a true tribute to an ancient dairy-making tradition that involves hand-working pasta filata cheese, which is braided to achieve the typical shape of braided mozzarella. This distinctive shape allows the cheese to retain milk and therefore all of its unmistakable flavor.

What recipes can be made with braided mozzarella?

As fresh as it is delicious, braided mozzarella is the ideal choice for those looking for a fresh cheese to accompany an aperitif or an appetizer. It pairs perfectly with many traditional Italian first and second courses. Not to mention that braided mozzarella is also suitable for making pizza.
